The eMule software will function without any troubles if the ports are set correctly ("Settings" "Connection"):

4662 (TCP) and 4672 (UDP) are these default ports.

There are other possible reasons for blocking:
- firewall
- routers

- port blocking

There are several reasons why eMule can get disconnected from a server:
- in old eMule versions this may happen if the file list is too long or the number of common files is large;
- server problems;
- network problems;
